Healthy Hearing & Balance Care offers consultations over the internet for those who are unable to come to the clinic.
E-Services include:
- First audiological consultation
- Follow-up for the management of hearing loss, auditory processing, tinnitus, hyperacusis and Meniere’s disease.
Conditions for E-Services: After booking your appointment , an audiologist will call you for a live consultation over the web. Consultations last for up to 1 hour. At the first appointment our audiologists will be able to review any audiological test results you may already have and discuss your needs and a managment plan. An appointment in the clinic for a physical examination may be required and this will be discussed at your first E-appointment, prior to engaging in any form of treatment.
Requirements for E-Services: We use TokBox or Skype for our E-Services and you need a computer with a webcam.
Using Skype: You must have a Skype account and at the time of the appointment you will receive a Skype video call from the audiologist.
Using TokBox: You do not need any special software. At the time of your appointment you will receive an email form TokBox. Open the email and click on the link. You will be directed to our E-Services webpage and the audiollogist will be waiting for you.
Connection: Best image and sound results will be achieved during E-Consult by following the suggestsions below.
Use headphones to avoid echo.
Have the latest version of Flash Player.
Close out any other program that may be using your webcam.
Use a wired internet connection if possible.
